The Walker child

Our exceptional teaching and learning, driven by an ambitious curriculum, ensures that all children make excellent progress and become confident, independent learners. But the Walker experience doesn’t end there. Our warm, supportive and inclusive ethos cultivates curiosity, ambition and resilience. Children understand the importance of kindness, tolerance, teamwork and determination. They leave us prepared, and excited, to embrace their future and ready to tackle any challenges they may face.

Greatness on Display

At Walker, the success of one person is a cause for celebration for our whole community. Our children are proud of their achievements and love to share their learning, and progress, with visitors. If you would like to see Walker in action, please get in touch to book your school tour.

A UNICEF Gold School

Walker is a Gold Rights Respecting School and children’s rights are at the heart of our school. Pupils know that their voice is valued and are empowered to drive change, both within their school and the community. They understand the importance of being kind, treating everyone equally and considering the wider environment.

“Walker is a kind school where we help each other, make people’s days better, ensure that everyone is happy and that no one is alone.”

~ Year 5 pupil, UNICEF Ambassador.

Learning at Walker

Our curriculum is designed to enable every child to achieve across all areas and to make exceptional progress. No one is left behind at Walker. We take a whole child approach to learning, so that our pupils flourish academically, socially, emotionally and personally. Walker children are ambitious, motivated and determined. They are comfortable making mistakes and they have the confidence and resilience to persevere and seek help. They develop a passion for learning and life, building solid foundations for the rest of their educational journey.

Our diverse range of enrichment activities help children to develop their characters, improve their confidence and find their passion. Whether it’s joining a sports team, learning a musical instrument, preparing for a LAMDA exam or taking on a leadership role in our School Council, there’s an opportunity for every child to build on their own skills and strengths.
