Welcome to Walker Primary. Our school is a place to belong, to contribute and to flourish. Walker children are welcoming, ambitious, kind and engaged. They support each other, embrace challenge and keep striving. Our strong academic results are well above the national average and our teaching and learning is complemented by an excellent extracurricular offer.
Our school is set in the glorious surroundings of Southgate, North London, among the cricket ground and Christ Church. Our classrooms are spacious and welcoming, and children enjoy playing in our large playground at break-times. Our extensive extracurricular programme and popular breakfast and after-school club supports families who need wraparound care, gives children a chance to broaden their horizons and ensures that no one day is the same at Walker.
Our exceptional quality of teaching and learning is driven by an ambitious curriculum, which has been thoughtfully created to engage, stimulate and challenge every child. Walker children grow into confident, resilient and motivated learners. They work hard and are proud of their progress.
Underpinning this is our commitment to ensuring that all our children possess the skills and knowledge to prepare them for the next phase of their education, as well as enabling them to make a positive contribution to our local community and the wider world.

“Pupils’ behaviour is exemplary in lessons and all around the school. Leaders make sure pupils have exceptional opportunities to develop their characters. They support pupils to take on many leadership roles across the school. Adults have implemented a remarkably rich ethos of cooperation and harmony across the school. For instance, children from Reception through to Year 6 all play together happily in the same playground at break-times. Pupils look after each other here.”
