Walker OFSTED Report 2023
We are delighted to share the extremely positive findings from our recent Ofsted inspection in May 2023. The inspectors rated Walker Primary School as Good overall, highlighting our warm, ambitious environment with a real sense of community. They praised our exemplary pupil behaviour, the exceptional opportunities we provide for personal development, and our safeguarding procedures which ensure a strong culture of keeping children safe.
Inspectors commended our ambitious curriculum, with children in Early Years being fully prepared for Year 1 and many subjects exceeding national requirements. Our teaching of reading and phonics was recognised as a key strength. The report celebrated our welcoming, inclusive culture that considers the needs of all pupils, including those with SEND who are supported to access the full curriculum alongside their peers. We are proud that Ofsted found pupil behaviour to be outstanding both in classrooms and playgrounds, with a joyful atmosphere of cooperation across all ages.
We will continue building on these excellent foundations, working hard to further enhance our curriculum provision and assessment processes in line with the inspectors’ recommendations. Our commitment remains to providing a rich, ambitious education that allows every Walker pupil to thrive.
